After his first-ever solo UK tour had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, choreographer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood, 57, is finally free to take to the road - and, by the sound of it, fans are in for a treat.
Your tour was originally supposed to happen during the COVID-19 pandemic. How have the past two years been?
It's been a challenge, and it's changed my life entirely. The first three months of lockdown were great because the weather was good, but then I started thinking of the future and I thought, 'How am I going to pay my mortgage?'
But I've done lots of things that I wouldn't normally do. I do theatre during the year, but that all closed down so I did more TV stuff, and I had fun! I managed to get a book written and an album recorded. And now I finally get to go on tour.
What can we expect from the tour?
It's a musical version of my life on stage. Act One is all about me growing up in Australia, starting dancing and then moving to Europe. I sing songs that had value in my life back then. It's almost like Desert Island Discs, but sung. I go back to when I was about seven, putting on little shows for the family with my sisters. Act Two is more about the 'TV me'.
You're going to be revealing some backstage secrets, aren't you?
