It's no secret that Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have a fiery relationship, full of banter and bickers - it's what makes them so relatable and, in turn, so popular. But with Eamonn leaving This Morning to host a new show on GB News while Ruth (for now) remains at ITV presenting Loose Women, as well as covering holiday on This Morning and concentrating on her QVC range, the couple are doubtless spending much less time together than ever before. So, with their new and very different work commitments, are the couple finding it tough?
Ruth, 62, has admitted recently that rows between them are normal and has been candid about their marriage, saying, 'We spar a lot, we're both quite fiery characters.' And now she has revealed that she and Eamonn, also 62, have had times when they haven't spoken for a whole day after a spat, saying, 'Sometimes we would never resolve it, so we're not that couple that goes "I think we need to talk about this" because I would still think that I was right about something. We'd end up arguing. We have times where we then ignore each other for the day,' she added. 'I'll just avoid him and think, "He's getting on my nerves."
The great divide
Eamonn and the couple's son Jack, 20, recently visited family in Eamonn's hometown of Belfast, Northern Ireland, while Ruth stayed at home in Surrey to spend time with her mum Joan.
Sharing a collage of pictures, including snaps of him with his mum Josie and granddaughter Emilia, Eamonn wrote on Instagram, 'That's about my weekend summed up in pictures. How was yours?' Fans were quick to pick up on the fact that Ruth was absent. 'Without Ruth?' one questioned, while another added, 'What's happening between them? Eamonn seems to spend every weekend away from Ruth.'
