Fans heaped praise on Josie Gibson when she took centre stage to present This Morning in mid December.

The 36-year-old teamed up with Vernon Kay to co-host the ever-popular two-and-a-half-hour magazine show, while regular presenters Phil and Holly took a well-earned break.

One viewer called the duo a ‘breath of fresh air’ on Twitter, while another gushed, ‘Love them! Keep them permanently!’

It’s not the first time Josie has taken the reins on the show. She also stepped in to replace a sickly Holly for two days back in November, and she could barely contain her excitement, saying, ‘Phil, I just cannot believe I’m sat here, it is so surreal. I’ve grown up watching you, it’s just crazy. What an honour.’

Natural warmth

Viewers took to social media in their droves to congratulate Josie on her natural, warm presenting style. Insiders say producers are so impressed with the feedback, they’re planning to make more use of the star’s headlining skills over the coming year.

‘Everyone who works behind the scenes was thrilled with the reaction Josie got when she presented with both Phil and Vernon,’ a source told Woman. ‘They’re really keen for her to be more involved this year. She’s already proven to be incredibly popular as a roving reporter, but now she’s shown she can carry the main show as a presenter too.’
