Behind closed doors, the threat of divorce is looming.

The rift between Victoria and David Beckham has grown so wide, friends fear the couple are edging ever closer to an explosive billion-dollar divorce.

As news leaked last week that the celebrity power pair’s new $8.5 million home in the English countryside will have two equal-sized wings – each with their own kitchen, bedrooms and courtyard – Victoria has confided in friends that she can’t go on pretending that her marriage is still intact.

“The floor plan for their new Cotswolds mansion says it all,” a source close to the former Spice Girl reveals, speaking exclusively to Woman’s Day. “Her marriage is in the worst state it’s ever been in. Vic is at breaking point and she’s sick of putting on a brave face when her heart is in pieces.

“Her relationship with David these days is nothing more than a business arrangement and Vic is telling her close friends she’s tired of covering over the cracks for the sake of Brand Beckham. She can’t keep the façade up for much longer.”

Building their new home with his and hers wings is just the tip of the misery iceberg for designer Victoria, 43, and football legend David, 42, who have spent increasingly long periods apart over the past six months.
