CHARLOTTE DUJARDIN, Annabella Pidgley and Becky Moody shared the spoils across the gold small tour classes.
Charlotte Dujardin’s exciting upcoming mare, Times Kismet, owned and bred by Peter Belshaw, scored a hattrick across the championships. First, the eight-year-old Ampère mare blew away the Fairfax Saddles prix st georges (PSG) field with 78.529%.
“Her test on Kismet was so harmonious and light-footed,” said Clive Halsall, judge at C for the PSG. “There was a blip in the changes and the walk was a little tense, but the balance was in a league of its own.”
Charlotte added: “I couldn’t believe halfway through when I was going towards the big scoreboard that she was trending on more than 81%.
The mistakes were mine and it was definitely a case of pat the horse, slap the jockey.”
Charlotte and Kismet went on to score a double win at inter I level, too, collecting the overall Saracen Horse Feeds inter I supreme championship in the process.
“The feeling she gives me is phenomenal, absolutely on air. If she was human she would be like Cameron Diaz: good looking, good figure and spicy – a girl with attitude!” said Charlotte of Kismet.
In the Fairfax Saddles PSG freestyle, Annabella Pidgley, 18, and the fabulous Espe continued their run of form to lift the title.
The gold medal-winning young rider was on a mission to ensure the nine-year-old Escolar mare, who is owned by Annabella’s mother Sarah, had an improved run at Somerford Park after she had to be retired from the arena last year.
