He left us too early - he was young. Everyone has a story about him.
B.V. DOSHI A EULOGY 1927-2023

In a life that spanned nine decades and more, he met thousands of people; students, professionals, peers, and friends; some only for a fraction of a moment, some longer, some often – and each and every one of them has this meeting seared in their minds – a memory that they guard zealously, protect and will continue to do so. Each convinced that they had a special and rare bond with him; often so powerful that it became their guiding light.

If all these stories were ever compiled they would well be a modern age coda, which will help us navigate life and the act of imagining space – maxims that will resonate for generations to come.

He was like that.
He was inquisitive, curious, and infuriatingly insightful.
He had an infectious energy, and read people better than they did themselves.

The eyes always danced and shone like stars in the deep night sky and a smile hovered around the lips, impatiently waiting to burst out and cast warmth in the world. He always dreamt of new things and talk about initiating projects that would if they were to fructify, take years to get formed and decades to realize. He did not worry about things like that.

He knew that life was infinite and all it did was change forms – and in whichever form he would be – he would lead and influence the world and seed it with ideas that none of us could conjure.

This he so strongly believed that it led him to cast great ships on impossible voyages each moment till the last day – many which will sail strong for generations to come.
