Avenue Supermarts, widely recognised as DMart, is one of India's most successful value-focused retail chains, with a network of over 365 stores across 13 states.
Founded by investor Radhakishan Damani in 2002, DMart launched its first store in Mumbai and has grown significantly by emphasising affordability and convenience. The brand's stronghold is Maharashtra, where it has 109 stores, and it has expanded its presence in states like Gujarat, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, with a total retail area spanning 15.15 million square feet (msf).
DMart has built its reputation on the "Everyday Low Cost/Everyday Low Price" (EDLC/EDLP) model, offering quality products at competitive prices across foods, non-foods (FMCG), and general merchandise & apparel categories. This strategy caters to India's budget-conscious shoppers and is reflected in DMart's wide range of products, organised in modern, mall-like settings that appeal to urban and semi-urban consumers alike.
