When you are in the business of building infrastructure, and are backed by more than four decades of experience, there is something that you must have achieved. And when there is a legacy, there are also standards to meet and set new ones. Dr Nalin J Gupta, MD, J Kumar InfraProjects, is trying to tick off several such parameters that he and his team has set for the company.
Over the years, the organisation has achieved several benchmarks and also broken several records. While the company is an all-round infrastructure developer, today it has earned a reputation for constructing India’s and Mumbai’s much-looked-forward-to transportation – the Metro Rail.
Dr Gupta says, “We are honoured to have played a part in the EPC construction of Mumbai Metro Project Line 2A and 7, comprising 35 km of viaduct and 30 stations constructed in 2 phases. The project was recently dedicated to Mumbaikars by the Prime Minister.”
It is now looking forward to constructing another 100 km of metro rail across the country.
STEPPING STONE TO SUCCESS
The growth for J Kumar InfraProjects has not been easy. When the company was started by Chairman Jagdish Kumar Gupta way back in the early 80s, it was a fledgling company that took on contracts for civil works. Over the years, he slowly built an empire and a reputation of taking on larger projects and ensuring timely completion. He also realised that it was important to build a team and develop expertise across various engineering works if the company were to grow by leaps and bounds.
