CLIMATE CHANGE AT UNGA PROF YUNUS LIVED UP TO EXPECTATIONS

Bangladesh has been one of the major victims of global warming and carbon emission even though it has contributed little to the climate change factors. His responsibility had been heavier as this time he got an opportunity to meet a galaxy of world leaders not only as a Nobel laureate but also as the leader of a country that is being threatened by climate change more than any other sufferers. The world listens to him seriously when he talks about his new concept of Three Zeros: Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero emission.

He did not disappoint us. During his four-day stay in New York, Dr. Yunus held at least 50 meetings – 12 with world leaders, including US President Joe Biden.

However, I believe that COP30, under the progressive leadership of Lula De Silva of Brazil, a University Professor, can expect a better outcome.
