The SUNACT Cancer Institute has successfully treated an older patient with ultra-high-risk multiple myeloma, or cancer of blood plasma cells.
This patient is the first in India to get bi-specific CAR T-cell therapy for this difficult and complicated illness.
On Monday, December 10, 2024, a group of medical professionals, including Drs. Bilal Kazi, Saurabh Bhave, and Ashay Karpe, performed the treatment at SUNACT's Thane center under the direction of renowned oncologist Dr. Vijay Patil.
