FOUR DECADES AFTER WINNING GOLD AT THE LOS ANGELES OLYMPIC GAMES TESSA SANDERSON IS HONOURED BY FAMILY, FELLOW ATHLETES AND CELEBRITY FRIENDS AT THE HOUSE OF LORDS

Proudly standing at the top of the Olympic podium in Los Angeles to receive her medal, Tessa Sanderson became the golden girl of British sport after setting two new records: the longest ever Olympic javelin throw at that time-a massive 69.56m - and the first black British woman to win gold.

Last week, to mark the 40th anniversary of that unforgettable day in 1984, family and friends turned out in force to honour the 68-year-old former athlete in a magnificent celebration at the House of Lords.

And HELLO! was among them as Tessa addressed loved ones and supporters including fellow former Olympians Dame Kelly Holmes, Christine Ohuruogu and Sharron Davies - who were bridesmaids at her wedding in 2010- and Daley Thompson.
