The happy couple shared one of their first kisses as newlyweds after exchanging vows in a stunning church in the historic city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, in front of a large gathering of family members, including Liam’s mother Rachel Hunter and stepmother Lady Stewart – better known as TV personality and photographer Penny Lancaster – Sir Rod’s wife of 17 years.
The elegant ceremony was at heart a family reunion for the Stewarts, with the proud head of the clan surrounded by all eight of his children.
The 79-year-old rock star paid a moving tribute to his son and new daughter-in-law on social media. “I’m immensely proud to have witness the beautiful wedding ceremony of my son Liam to his bride Nicole. What a wonderful union of The Stewart’s and The Artukovich’s.
“May they continue to find joy, love and laughter for as long as they may live and produce many more baby’s to join their little 1 year old boy, Louie,” he wrote, referring to Liam and Nicole’s young son.
FATHER’S JOY
In addition, Sir Rod posted an image of him with four of his children – ice hockey player Liam, 29, Sean, 43, Alastair, 18, and Aiden, 13 – and captioned it: “So happy to be surrounded by my sons this special weekend.”
Penny also posted heartfelt words about the bride and groom, writing: “Their love is on fire, their light shines so bright. I captured this moment that doesn’t need words. Congratulations you love birds, I’m honoured to have been apart of your beautiful celebrations.”
Adding an image of her husband with all of his children, she wrote: “Magical day, filling our hearts with love and pride in celebrating the marriage of our Liam and Nicole.”
FAMILY AFFAIR
The newlyweds met when they were finishing high school in Los Angeles and have been together on and off ever since.
