NEW GEL FIGHTS BRAIN CANCER!

DEADLY and aggressive glioblastoma — one of the most common brain cancers — was 100 percent eradicated in a new study by a drug-delivering miracle gel, scientists say

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University developed the chemotherapy and immunotherapy combo treatment. They found it knocked out tumors in mice and appeared to rewire the rodents’ immune systems to stop the disease from recurring! 

Professor Honggang Cui explains, “We believe this hydrogel will be the future and will supplement current treatments for brain cancer.” 

Cui’s team combined paclitaxel, a medication for breast, lung and other cancers, and the antibody aCD47 in a solution that self-assembles into a gel once inside the brain.
