Lauryn Goodman is centre stage on our screens right now, alongside other celebs, including Jamelia and Helen Flanagan, as she lays her heart bare in the latest season of E4’s Celebs Go Dating. In one episode, the 33-year-old is even overcome with tears as she discusses her tumultuous love life, which included a relationship with married footballer Kyle Walker, father of her two young children, son Kairo, four, and one-year-old daughter Kinara.
The reality star faced Kyle – who also has four children with his wife Annie Kilner – in a high-profile court clash over child maintenance last month.
Here, opens up about how she’s been burnt by past relationships, jokes about her “ideal” man – and reveals how the show’s dating gurus are helping her move forward, and potentially even find love…
Hi, Lauryn! How would you describe your relationship history?
Viewers might be quite surprised. I think people think that I just sleep around. Not that there is anything wrong with that – each to their own – but I wasn’t brought up like that. My dad was really strict when I was younger. No boys were allowed upstairs. I have had four partners. One was long term and I lived with him. A couple were well-known names and a couple not so well known. It comes out in my deep dive with the agents, which was really emotional.
Are you seeing any patterns emerge in your relationships?
They said that I am in a cycle of fear, I am yet to work out what that means. My first boyfriend is quite well known, he is a nice one, but I don’t think it would have lasted because we are completely different. That was a healthy relationship, but I wasn’t healthy as my parents were divorcing… so it didn’t work. His name was Marcus Butler – he was a YouTuber and now models. He’s walked for Dolce & Gabbana.
He has 4.7m followers, and went into content creating.
