The Princess of Wales was resplendent in red as she attended a ceremonial welcome for the President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon-hee of the Republic of Korea. Princess Catherine and Prince William accompanied their guests to Horse Guards Parade, joining Queen Camilla and King Charles to witness a display of pomp and pageantry. The visiting premier was invited to inspect a guard of honour formed by F Company Scots Guard with the King, as senior dignitaries looked on and crowds lined The Mall to cheer the passing procession.
Warding off the chill in a £3,000 flowing cape with oversized bow by Catherine Walker, the princess finished her look with red Gianvito Rossi heels and a stunning pair of sapphire and diamond earrings which had belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Exiting the royal limo, Kate caused a media sensation with a “leggy display” as her dress accidentally rode up to rather un-Royal levels.
Royal expert Jennie Bond tells OK!, “Catherine has a magnificent pair of pins and we have got used to seeing them when she wears sports gear. In fact the red dress was quite discrete, the cameras just got a little extra leg as she got out of the car. The colour, combined with Camilla in blue, mirrored the colours of South Korea’s flag, and this would definitely have been a deliberate diplomatic nod to their visitors.”
Later that evening there was regal glamour as senior royals and dignitaries gathered at a glittering State Banquet in honour of the Korean President and his wife at Buckingham Palace.
