She may be one of the shining stars of daytime TV, but This Morning’s Josie Gibson is still as down-to-earth and sweet natured as she was when she won Big Brother back in 2010.
“Help yourselves to tea and coffee and whatever you can find in the fridge,” she tells OK! as she greets us with a big hug at the door of her modern four-bedroom house on the outskirts of Bristol.
Josie moved into her home with her five-year-old son, Reggie-James, in January 2022, but admits it’s taken her until now – with a little help from This Morning’s celebrity home stylist Georgina Burnett – to get it to a standard she’s happy with.
“It didn’t feel like home for a long time as it was a new build. It was completely empty,” Josie says. “I had to get Georgina to make it feel more homely as I’m rubbish with turning bare spaces into something. It was a little bit soulless before, but now I love coming home.”
In fact, Georgina dashed to Josie’s house on the morning of our photo shoot to replace some recently deceased air plants that were hanging forlornly from her kitchen ceiling.
“Apparently, they’re impossible to kill,” laughs Josie, who clearly isn’t as green-fingered as she had hoped to be. “Georgina has just been round to change the dead ones.”
It’s not surprising that Josie, 38, hasn’t had time to tend to her plants. For the past 18 months, she’s been a regular co-host on This Morning, since stepping in to cover for Holly Willoughby who had tested positive for Covid-19.
