Danielle Harold is bracing herself to face her fears on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. But there's one thing she won't be worrying about - men! The ex-EastEnders star, 31, is heading into the jungle as a single lady - and love is the last thing on her mind.
For months, Danielle, who played Lola Pearce-Brown in the BBC soap, has been linked to her ex-soap co-star Jamie Borthwick. However, in an exclusive interview, which she gave just before jetting off to Australia, she says, "I am single. I am happy about that as you don't have to worry about anyone when you are there. But no, I definitely do not want to meet anyone in the jungle."
She adds, "It's come by so quickly. I can't believe I am going in now. I have had such a crazy year, but I didn't expect this [to be going on I'm A Celeb]. It's a shock to the system." Looking forward to being herself rather than playing someone else on TV, Danielle says she wants to have lots of fun with her co-stars.
"It's definitely going to be nice to be myself and just have fun," she says. "The parts and roles I have been playing are always heavy stuff, so to be me is exciting.
"But I think I might have a few tears while I'm in there and I don't know how I'm going to be. I'm looking forward to the challenges and overcoming my fears."
Danielle also plans to comfort her jungle campmates if they are feeling down. "If I see someone struggling, I will try to be brave for them," she explains. "This is going to be so far removed from normal life and I am not good with being bored. I'm also going to have to get really used to not having a cup of tea in the morning."
The actress understands camping in the wild is going to be tough. "I have been camping once and it didn't go well," she confides. "I like to stick to the glamping. I've not lived with strangers either. This is the first time for me."
