At 64, Anthea Turner has an enviable glow and looks the picture of health – she’s clearly got this ageing thing figured out.
But the presenter admits she’s practical when it comes to her health and beauty regime. While she’s careful about her diet and follows a diverse exercise schedule, her skincare routine is very much no-nonsense.
We’re desperate to know the secrets to her agedefying looks but it all began with her outlook, she says.
“You do need to put in more effort as you get older,” she says. “I think the first 40 years are on the house — you can get away with most things when you’re younger — but I think the next 40 you have to put a bit of effort in.”
Anthea, who is engaged to businessman Mark Armstrong, says there are upsides to getting older.
“You have more air miles behind you and there’s more knowledge,” she explains. “I think you cherish things when you’re a bit older because you’ve done the maths and you see your mortality. So, I savour things more and am much more relaxed these days.”
Anthea’s skin is something to be admired, with barely a wrinkle in sight. But she tells us she doesn’t overcomplicate things when it comes to skincare, with much of her routine starting from within. In fact, her mantra for life has spurred her on to create her own range of affordable beauty products — and she’s clearly done her research.
“I’ve got to the age where I’ve tried a huge amount of stuff, and you start to ask the question, ‘Does it really work?’ You wonder what you’re spending your money on and you question things, so I started to educate myself,” she says.
The TV personality, who has been in the showbiz industry for over 30 years, has just launched her newest skin product: Balm 6. With a vision to empty cluttered bathroom cabinets, the product has six uses; a make-up remover and cleanser, a face mask, a lip balm, a balm for eyebrows and lashes, on cuticles and to nourish dry hair.
