There are some big jerks roaming around our soaps and it’s a good day when one of them gets busted

I’m looking at you, Liam. The B&B brat harassed his wife Hope so relentlessly about Thomas he basically chased her into his arms. Then he suddenly remembered he also had a kid with Steffy and decided he wanted her back. 

Liam (to Steffy): “I’ve spent most of my adult life loving you.”

Huh? I guess those three marriages to Hope were just some play he was in. Liam has also wed Steffy three times, cheating on her with Hope and Sally. He skates by every time, but Finn’s got his number.

Liam: “Steffy and I were a family once.”

Finn: “Man, you have an ego. You’re talking about my wife! Your marriage to Hope is imploding so you’re running back to Steffy.”

Bingo. Liam is an annoying combination of two clichés: “Love the one you’re with” and “My way or the highway.” It’s okay when he kisses someone else while married or says, “I do” to Steffy because Hope was late to their wedding (!) but God forbid his partners do the same. Hope kissed Thomas in Rome and a few weeks later Liam was having flashbacks set to music about the life he shared with Steffy.

Liam: “You never saw what Steffy and I had. But I gave it up.”

Finn: “And she’s so much better for it.”

Hope is better now, too, although my jury’s out on her trying to build a life with the stepbrother who once stalked her, no matter how much offscreen therapy Thomas has supposedly gotten. Hope’s advice to Steffy was spot-on after Steffy dumped her current husband for hugging his psychotic mother (Sheila).
