It's Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the public has never seen them. Dancing at their 2018 wedding reception. Kissing in a photo booth. Having private conversations inside their former royal home, Frogmore Cottage. Relaxing on vacation. It's all part of their new six-part Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, which drops on Dec. 8. The show, teases the trailer, "explores the clandestine days of their early courtship," as well as "the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles" in early 2020. Harry wanted to make the doc, he explains in the series, because, "No one sees what's happening behind closed doors."
Now he and Meghan have thrown the doors wide open - and Harry's father, King Charles, has finally had enough. Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex exited The Firm for a new life in California, they've "wreaked havoc at the palace," says a royals source, with a tsunami of controversial tell-all moments, including a 2021 CBS joint interview and Harry's AppleTV+ series on mental health. This year brought Meghan's Spotify podcast and now the Netflix show - just three months after Queen Elizabeth II's death. The barrage has left Charles, 74, steaming, says the source. "He knows Harry and Meghan struck a $100 million deal with Netflix. They've done this show purely for financial gain, and it's full of lies. Charles understands that Harry feels he could have been a better father, but at the same time, he doesn't think he and the rest of the family deserve to be attacked and shamed like this. Harry and Meghan have hit the point of no return."
