Jumpy monkey could never sit quietly. He kept jumping from one branch to another, and so his name was kept Jumpy.
One day, Lucy fox was waiting for her school bus under the tree where Jumpy lived.
Lucy was in her school uniform, carrying her school bag, and had two braids in her hair. Suddenly, Jumpy thought of some mischief.
He hung upside down and swung down to grab one of Lucy's braids. But he could not reach one. Conny crow, who was perched on the tree, saw it and laughed.
Jumpy did not like being laughed at. So then, he hung by his tail and used it to grab a branch and swing down to try to grab a braid.
But this time, too, it was out of reach.
Jumpy cast a sideways glance at Conny and found him hiding his laughter.
Whatever happens, I must grab that braid, thought Jumpy and dived down with determination.
But the branch broke, and he fell head first, along with the broken branch, on top of Lucy.
Conny crow burst into laughter, seeing him fall. Lucy fell and was very taken by surprise.
"Oww! My nose! My back!" Jumpy cried. Lucy was also hurt, but she could not figure out how it happened so quickly.
"What's wrong with you? You spoilt my dress, and my glasses broke too," she said and started crying as she was wounded.
"I'm sorry for hurting you," Jumpy said, holding his ears. Then he took Lucy to the hospital.
