In a heartwarming initiative, Shagufta Hanaphie, a social activist and event curator from Kolkata, has brought a ray of hope and creativity to the lives of jail inmates in the city. Partnering with various NGOs, she has introduced photography classes within the confines of the Alipore Women's Correctional Home.
The project was initiated to provide inmates with photography workshops and equip them with technical and business skills, empowering them to face the challenges of the real world. Shagufta believes that these business skills are a crucial foundation for a photographer's livelihood.
