The Grand Tour gang recreate a classic race across the Sahara

James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond follow in the tyre tracks of their racing heroes for their penultimate Grand Tour adventure this week when the petrolhead pals head to the Sahara to race the last leg of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally.

‘It’s a Boys’ Own dream,’ says Hammond. ‘If you’re into cars, you’re going to be aware of the Paris-Dakar in its heyday, because the scenery, machinery, and what they did was incredible.’
