Her hits like You’re Still the One and Man! I Feel like a Woman! have helped make five-time Grammy-winning Canadian singer Shania Twain one of the biggest- selling music artists of all time.
But getting this far has not been easy, as the 58-year-old recalls when she looks back over her life and career with Dermot O’Leary in a Reel Stories special.
She starts by recalling how, as a young child, she earned money for her hard-up family by performing.
‘My mum would wake me, we’d go to a bar, and I would sing and then go back to bed,’ she says. ‘I didn’t love the stinky, smoky bars and men fighting!’
