Double, double toil and trouble… Something wicked this way comes to Disney+ on Friday as, after a 29-year hiatus, film stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy reprise their roles as 17th-century witches the Sanderson sisters in hugely-anticipated sequel Hocus Pocus 2.

‘It looks fabulous! Some legends never die,’ smiles Bette, 76, AKA super-smart Winnie, who along with her younger siblings, lustful Sarah and quirky Mary (played by Sarah and Kathy respectively), specialises in terrorising the children of Salem, Massachusetts.

SPELLBINDING

The original 1993 movie has become staple viewing at Halloween, turning the comedy caper into a cult classic that was just crying out for a follow-up, says producer Lynn Harris.

‘We approached the women and said, “Hey, guys, it’s time to get the band back together,”’ says Lynn. ‘They made great notes on the script because they have such a deep awareness of their character and clicked right back into them. It was magic.’
