When Ethan confessed that he'd run from a car crash, leaving his friend Nicky unconscious at the scene, vicar Charles reported his son.

Ethan was duly arrested, but when he was released on bail last week, Nicky's parents Ruby and Caleb and his uncle Cain were baying for the lawyer's blood. Not long afterwards, a car mowed down Ethan, who later limped home in a terrible state.

Now it's time for bruised Ethan's plea hearing, but it doesn't look as if he's going to make it to court...
