A bizarre sound brings untold trauma for a caring teacher in BBC1's drama The Listeners.

The four-part series centres on Claire Kutty (Rebecca Hall), who lives a happy life with husband Paul (Prasanna Puwanarajah) and their daughter Ashley (Mia Tharia), until she starts to hear a mysterious humming, which her loved ones can't pick up.

Off balance

Claire, who's also suffering from nosebleeds and nightmares, has no idea where the noise is from, and grows unsettled when tests fail to pinpoint a medical cause.
