IJS Signature 2023, the first trade show of the year, got off to a glittering start at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, on January 5, with several dignitaries and personnel of the industry present at the event. Along with the five-day event, India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo (IGJME) also took off concurrently.
Organized by GJEPC, IIJS Signature 2023 was inaugurated by Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, who was also the chief guest, and Poonam Mahajan, Member of Parliament, and MP Ahammed, Chairman, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, who were the guests of honour. Also present at the occasion were R. Arulanandan, Director, Department of Commerce, Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GOI; Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC; Kirit Bhansali, Vice Chairman, GJEPC; Nirav Bhansali, Convener, National Exhibitions, GJEPC; Nitesh Gajera, Co-Convener, National Exhibitions, GJEPC; and Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC.
This year's event was the 15th edition of IIJS Signature, and the biggest-ever so far. The venue accommodated more than 1,300 exhibitors and over 2,400 booths, spread over six halls. As many as 24,000 visitors and 10,000 domestic companies attended the show.
Speaking on the occasion, Patel said, "Efforts made by GJEPC to make the fiveday IIJS Signature show bigger, better and greener are truly praise-worthy and commendable. IIJS Signature has given an opportunity to indigenous jewellers from diverse parts of the country to showcase their versatile collections to international buyers from over 50 countries.
