But why the resurgence of a century-old practice? Much of it has to do with the level of sophistication of fitness enthusiasts today, who seek a more holistic regimen that offers long-term care for their bodies. "Joseph Pilates' teachings state that you are only as young as your spine is healthy," shares Heather Thomas, founder of Flex Studio in Hong Kong and Singapore.
