"It's my first time playing the 'hero' on a project and it's quite the experience," says maverick actor Shefali Shah when asked about her work as the tough and broody IPS Vartika Chaturvedi on one of Netflix's best original dramas, Delhi Crime. Shah's nearly three-decade-long acting career is characterized by a "few but fruitful" projects, each with their unique place in Hindi cinema. However, it wasn't until the summer of 2019 that her patience finally paid off. "Vartika made everything feel worth it. It is my favourite character, one I connected with much more than I thought possible. I keep her close to my heart." Shah's earnest love for the character shone through in her stellar portrayal in the show's first season - one of the year's most highly acclaimed acting performances.
