Let us talk about the Guru-Shishya relationship. Here we (teacher-student) understand that one has more knowledge and the other is keen to learn and gain that knowledge; the one who has the knowledge is also willing to give it. Only then such a relationship can take place.
Very often it happens that we may find or reach some highly knowledgeable persons but they are very closed and don't want to give their knowledge. They want to keep their knowledge to themselves and not share it with anyone because they do not want people to bother them.
I have seen that in many Guru-Shishya relations, where the teacher has to teach something to the student, but does not teach properly because of the fear that the student could become better. This is a very wrong approach according to me, because that knowledge is not the teacher's; it has come from somewhere else.
