This unusual array of garlands gives the formal room an air of whimsy. The idea works well within a room with a high ceiling and plenty of space for generously tiered swags.

SHINING LIGHT

Decorate sconces with sprigs of foliage, adding a faux flower or two for an extra point of focus. Cut the stems to fit or use florist’s wire carefully wound around the light to secure them in place. Vary the size, texture and colour for interest and keep well away from flames or hot bulbs.
