EMBRACING TOURISM - How Goa Can Benefit from Its Visitors

The tourist season can often feel overwhelming for many residents of Goa, with some expressing frustration or unease, hoping for the visitors to eventually leave and restore peace to the state. However, what many locals overlook is the significant revenue these tourists contribute to Goa's economy.

The most practical solution, then, is to coexist harmoniously and recognize that the tourists aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Here are some suggestions on how locals can prepare for and navigate the upcoming tourist season. Many local and small businesses, in fact, eagerly anticipate this time of year, as the arrival of tourists constitutes the bulk of their livelihood.

Preparing Yourself as a Local Business

Beyond stocking up on inventory, it's crucial for small businesses to recognize the importance of being well-informed. Tourists, at the end of the day, are outsiders to the places they visit. They come with various questions and queries, eager to learn about their destination and connect with its culture for an authentic experience.

Therefore, as a local, it's essential to provide accurate and up-to-date information to educate and guide visitors.
