A Singapore's famous shopping strip Orchard Road in a sidecar, I can only think one thing: I really hope I don't end up in a Singapore Sling'.

Of course, such fears s I hurtle down are quickly allayed. After putting an adventurous spin on my sightseeing with a motorcycle tour organised by my hotel, JEN Singapore Tanglin, my guide threads through the traffic with ease. Soon I'm relaxed enough to take pics of the scenery - wait, isn't that the famous Raffles Hotel? Maybe I'll get that iconic Singapore Sling cocktail after all...

WHERE TO STAY

 Shangri-La Singapore is an oasis in the city, perfectly located just a few minutes' walk from Orchard Road. 

Singaporeans love waterfalls - and this hotel has two man-made waterfalls, which give this amazing hotel an air of tranquility.

The hotel comprises 792 guest rooms across the Tower Wing, the Garden Wing and the stately Valley Wing. Oh, and check out the nine-metre high rock feature wall in the Tower Wing foyer, designed by none other than New Idea contributor Charlie Albone!
