Tears, anger, outrage, and heartbreak were felt across Australia last week when thousands of people gathered in cities and towns across the country to pay respect to Cassius Turvey.

The Noongar and Yamatji teen died on October 23, 2022, from injuries sustained in an attack in the Perth suburb of Middle Swan while walking home from school with his friends.

It is alleged that on October 23, a car approached Cassius’ group, when several men assaulted them with weapons including a metal pole.

After initially being discharged from hospital, the 15-year-old later suffered two strokes and a brain bleed before being induced into a coma. He later died in hospital.
