HOME AGAIN

The luxe living room is furnished with Moroccan-inspired chairs from Sam Moore, shimmery cube tables inlaid with abalone, and Persian-style rugs. Wooden panels with a floral motif flank the French doors leading to the sunroom.

Suzanne Holland and Cathy Jordan have been hosting Pawhuska visitors for several years at their Airbnb rental, The Oilman's Daughter, and are enjoying a pretty successful run with it. The renovated 1925 home is only a few blocks from The Mercantile, and guests love being able to stay at the house and live like locals. The sisters, who have deep connections in Pawhuska (their oilman father married their mother here), were content to run just the one business, but then Cathy spotted a Spanish Colonial Revival for sale nearby-a potential second location. "We agreed to ignore the listing, but that didn't last long!" says Suzanne.

The wrought-iron details, arched wood entrance and spacious front porch are original to the house, but the paint color is new. The cream felt more in keeping with the architecture and interior updates than the original tan and burgundy exterior, Cathy says.
