Down the winding path that snaked through the villa-studded side of Capella Singapore, the serene silence occasionally pierced by the calls of the peacocks that freely roam the luscious landscaped grounds of the luxury resort, flocks of media could be seen making our way to the respective villas where the four watchmaking maisons under LVMH GroupBulgari, Hublot, TAG Heuer and Zenith would be presenting their latest novelties at LVMH Watch Week 2023.
Held from 10 to 12 January 2023 in sunny Sentosa, the fourth edition of the major watch event marked the first physical event since its 2020 debut in Dubai, having pivoted to digital platforms for its 2021 and 2022 editions during the pandemic-ridden years.
From sleek smartwatches to diamond-set timepieces, horophiles and gemophiles alike would delight in the newly unveiled collections.
BULGARI
At the Bulgari villa, we were presented with timepieces themed "Time is A Jewel". The maison did what it does best and created stunning amalgamations of timekeepers and jewellery - this time raising the bar higher with the Serpenti Tubogas Infinity. For the first time, the Serpenti Tubogas is set with diamond beyond just its case, now extending down to its coiled bracelet, an impressive feat that required a redesign of the bracelet to allow the gem-setting to be executed seamlessly. Available in either a double-twirl (partially set with 172 diamonds) or single-twirl version (partially set with 131 diamonds), the watch features a curved 35 mm rose gold case set with 8 diamonds, its bezel set with 44 brilliant-cut diamonds and the dial paved with 262 diamonds.
