Rolex has pulled out all the stops to make 2024 a year to remember, with a slew of new releases that each bring a fresh perspective to its most iconic models. Born of a desire to reawaken the emotion in watchmaking, this year’s collection does just that in trademark fashion, displaying uncompromising attention to the minutest of details. The unification of contrasts seems to form the underlying current here, with the 2024 re leases merging functionality and aesthetics, tradition with innovation, and boldness with refinement. Let’s turn our eyes toward the standout creations that Rolex has presented us with this year.
OYSTER PERPETUAL GMT-MASTER II
The GMT-Master II in Oystersteel gets a Cerachrom bezel insert in grey and black ceramic this time around, with the muted colour contrast making a subtle reference to the alternating day and night. The choice of metal here is a callback to when the model was first launched, a time when it was available only in steel.
You have the option of either the Oyster bracelet or the Jubilee bracelet here, with both variants the picture of discretion and functionality. The ‘GMT-Master II’ inscription in green stands out against the black lacquer dial, as does the 24-hour hand that shares the same shade.
