And on June 15, Gen.T Hong Kong held a Leaders of Tomorrow event at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong to officially induct these outstanding leaders.
Sponsored by MercedesBenz, HKSTP and The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel, the gala was attended by a who's who of Hong Kong, and Gen.T honourees past and present.
In keeping with the spirit of sustainability-one that would resonate with many of the leaders in the roomthe menu was meat-free. It featured sustainably sourced seafood and locally sourced, hydroponically grown produce, plus a selection of biodynamic wines.
Jacqueline Tsang, Tatler's regional head of content and Hong Kong editor-in-chief; and Chong Seow Wei, Gen.T's senior editor, emceed the event.
Guests were treated to a performance by harmonica virtuoso CY Leo and award-winning pianist Tina Deng, who performed covers of hits from Earth, Wind and Fire and Ed Sheeran, as well as classics from composers including Tchaikovsky.
Lee Williamson, Gen.T's regional head, then paid tribute to the 2023 Gen.T honourees. "Our goal is to connect, inform and inspire Asia's most influential young entrepreneurs," he said.
The evening came to a crescendo with the revelation of Phoenixes of Tomorrow, a collection of NFT art created in collaboration with the artist Dawn Ang, who is a Gen.T 2023 Singapore honouree. The class of Gen.T 2023 will be gifted with one NFT from the collection; meanwhile, 100 copies of the NFT will be sold on OpenSea. Each honouree is encouraged to ask friends and family to buy the NFTs, and all proceeds will go towards The Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association (HKDSA)-and the art will evolve as more money is raised.
