Mercedes has been able to price the EQS 580 rather well and that is due to the benefit that electric cars get under M the new GST regime. Being assembled in India, the car attracts a GST of just 5 per cent overall as opposed to the S-Class's 50 per cent.
In size, the EQS is similar to the S-Class, being just 28mm narrower and 73mm shorter, with a wheelbase that is just 6mm shorter. However, the EQS is distinctive with its bow-like cab-forward design with a fastback style at the rear and a black panel at the front. The overall shape and the various design elements lead it to the best coefficient of drag ever seen on a production car of 0.20 that helps it achieve an ARAI-certified range of 857km.
