This has made it one of the most affluent societies on earth, which, combined with the country's rock-solid political stability, has made it the ideal base for global expansion. The US International Trade Administration identifies Swedish manufacturing as "a best prospect industry sector" for investors, capitalising on these strengths. notes that manufacturing accounts for 20% of GDP, with advanced manufacturing generating more than $40bn a year.
Led by Rune Andersson, one of Sweden's most respected business leaders, Mellby Gard is one of the stars of the Swedish business world, with extensive interests in both manufacturing and retailing. The group has made its name finding global market niches, and building its position as a leader in them. A family-owned, long-term investor, it endeavours to preserve the entrepreneurial spirit of its companies.
"Almost all of our companies are in the top three in their segment," says Andersson. "What guides us at all times when launching a new company is to be leading that market in 10-20 years. We only work on special businesses. We prefer niches which are stable and in which we can grow our profits. Of course it takes time to lead in the field, but the only way to do it is as a family company. This is our secret, and is why we have such high profits. You can't achieve that if you only work with standard products."

Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie
PARIS HILTON AND NICOLE RICHIE ARE READY TO BRING A LITTLE “SANASA” to the world with Peacock's Paris & Nicole: The Encore, their first project together since their reality show The Simple Life ended in 2007. What's “sanasa”? It's a song and phrase the longtime friends created as kids and popularized on The Simple Life. The show, a cultural phenomenon in the early days of reality TV, followed them over a series of blue-collar jobs. Now they're bringing it back as an opera. “I know this is just going to make people laugh, have fun, be nostalgic and just celebrate our friendship,” Hilton said. While Richie acknowledged “you can't do Simple Life again,” she said now “felt like the right time.” The famous pair also revisit some old jobs in Arkansas, like fast-food chain Sonic, where they now have drinks named for them. “I think that there is a part of our friend- ship that the show ended up showing that people connect to,” Richie said. As for this new special, Hilton is glad to do something positive for their fans. “It's been such a crazy past couple years, and I just feel like the world needs more joy.”
