Lung cancer has been strongly linked with smoking and tobacco exposure and this has been well known and appropriately highlighted by public health agencies over the years. A startling discovery came to light recently when lung cancer of a certain type, seen in non-smokers was related to air pollution with large dust particles greater than two and a half micron in size and not as a result of smoking!
