Tackling Long COVID With Strategic Management
TerraGreen|February 2023
In this article, Gajanan Khergamker says that a range of long COVID-19 symptoms were detected in humans across borders following the two-year-long COVID-19 pandemic. The data on long COVID is still evolving, and more research is needed to fully understand its prevalence and impact. However, it is estimated that a significant proportion of individuals who have had COVID-19 may experience ongoing symptoms for weeks or even months after initial recovery from acute illness.
Tackling Long COVID With Strategic Management

There are undoubtedly a range of long COVID symptoms detected in humans across borders following the two-year-long COVID-19 pandemic. While most of the subjects have been administered vaccines, a debate on whether the long COVID symptoms have been triggered by the COVID-19 virus or the vaccine, has been raging for long: And, proponents of each side blaming the other for the long COVID symptoms have been having a field day. Sadly, it’s the blame game that has been causing much of the inordinate delay in tackling the scourge as the focus lies primarily on shifting the blame for the long COVID situation.

The most recent research published in the journal Vaccines that monitored the entire population of the Italian province of Pescara for 18 months—from January 2021 to July 2022 —the only one in the world that monitored the population for more than a year, taking into account numerous factors including age, gender and clinical risk of the participants has put the blame game to rest…for now.

The study maintains that COVID-19 vaccines did not cause an increased risk of adverse events such as heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, myocarditis, pericarditis, and deep vein thrombosis. Led by researchers from the University of Bologna in Italy, the team collected inhabitants’ health data and analysed the frequency of a range of serious diseases such as cardiovascular disease, pulmonary embolism, and thrombosis.
