The former Blackburn Rovers and England goalkeeper was booted out of the Southern League Premier Central side despite steering them to safety.
Now he is at the helm of old foes Redditch, replacing Matt Clarke who stepped down due to an ongoing court case, as reported previously in The NLP.
"I don't buy into all this rivalry nonsense," Flowers said. "This isn't Celtic and Rangers or Liverpool and Everton. These are Non-League clubs with some incredible people working for next to nothing. I have nothing but praise for them. I was given a job to do at Bromsgrove and I did it."
While Bromsgrove were fighting off relegation, Redditch finished last season in the play-offs before losing out to promoted Leamington - an achievement that didn't go unnoticed by the new boss.
