HALESOWEN took out unlucky Spalding to secure promotion with a last-gasp equaliser and an extra-time winner to turn around an exhilarating promotion play-off.
Jubilant Yeltz manager Paul Smith reflected on the huge triumph.
“We weren’t at our best but never gave up,” he told The NLP. “I thought it was going away from us as we didn’t capitalise on a good start and it all became very nervous.
“But somehow we found a way. I’m over the moon for everyone. This has been four years in the making.”
Spalding interim manager Elliot Sandy couldn’t hide his disappointment.
“I’m absolutely devastated,” he said. “The lads should be very proud of what we’ve achieved.”
