The former England international has joined the Championship outfit from Italian side Zebre where he finished last season following the collapse of the Warriors.
Through his Premiership career with hometown club Worcester, Gloucester and Exeter, Kvesic made more than 200 senior appearances and he is hoping that his experience will help Coventry improve on their thirdplace finish in 2022/23.
“With the way rugby is at the moment it is a pretty tough market for players out of contract so I was lucky that Coventry spoke to me quite early, and a couple of guys I knew there, Will Chudley and Tom Dodd, couldn’t speak highly enough about the club. So I thought for me it was a good option and it meant I could stay based where I am and travel from Worcester,” he explained,
“It is a ‘proper rugby club’; it’s got some pretty diehard supporters and it is a club with a lot of ambition. It seems like it is run really well, the guys that invest in the club are good blokes and I think that is shown by their trajectory over the last few years.
“Last year they finished third with a fairly young squad that they have developed and from what I understand, the coaches there are excellent. So I am really excited for a new challenge.
“It is obviously something a bit different and it is an opportunity for me to help grow the team. I don’t know if there will be promotion and relegation and whatnot but if I can be a part of the team and help push them up the table and maybe go one better than last year, that would be great.”
