Dings’ ray of light came from an Exeter line-out. Drew Turner, dominant all game, took the ball into contact, then handed through to Oscar Lennon, Ciaran Donoghue, Smith and back to Lennon to score and make Sam Worsley’s conversion unmissable.
Exeter were soon back in the red zone and, from a sneaky line-out, Sol Moody peeled off and scored.
