State BJP president C R Paatil urged newly elected MPs to begin their work, stressing the importance of bringing the BJP government's programmes to the grassroots. During a meeting with new MPs, prabharis and election in-charge leaders, Paatil reviewed party performance and issued a word of caution.
"Never speak against anyone in public. What one has done or not. Do not air your views on public forums," he advised, referring to instances where members criticised leaders with poor performance. This was in obvious reference to the Kshatriya agitation and related statements by party members.
Internal differences to stay private
Paatil emphasised, "Do not bring our differences into the open. Make representations at party forums."
Discussions at the meeting also covered the party's vote share and where they went wrong.
A senior leader mentioned the 'Congressisation' of the party, which had caused resentment among the workers.
