Says such games should be covered under Gambling Act

PIL in the Gujarat High Court has sought action against gaming applications that allow gambling on games, including cricket. The PIL said that the youth are wasting money gambling on such applications and also getting addicted to them in the process. It was alleged that financial rewards were being offered to play games like crossword puzzles and quizzes similar to Kaun Banega Crorepati. The hearing, however, was adjourned to January 3 as the petitioner's lawyer was on leave.
