The Indian court prohibited the husband from pursuing a divorce suit abroad following a petition filed by the wife. She sought the stay to avoid a multiplicity of legal cases and argued that the case should be decided in India since she lacks a valid visa to defend herself in the UK. The couple's marriage was solemnised in Ahmedabad, India.
